Elopement FAQ

Eloping in the Dolomites

  1. When is the best time to elope in the Dolomites?

June to mid-July: wildflowers, thawed alpine lakes and quieter trails. Late September to mid-October: golden larches, crisp air and dramatic light. Avoid August (crowds and heat) and November to April, unless you want a snow adventure.

  2. What happens if there is bad weather?

There is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of atmosphere. The Dolomites are moody and dramatic, and that's part of their magic. Cloud and fog create soft cinematic light, wind adds movement and emotion. I always plan with full flexibility, with backup timings and alternate locations if visibility becomes unsafe or impossible.

  3. Do we have to hike?

Not at all! Hiking is not everyone's thing (I totally get it, I don't love hiking either, but I do love a breathtaking view!). Most iconic Dolomites locations are easily accessible, and I don't offer long or intense hikes. I'm happy to walk up to 1 hour on an easy trail if needed. From experience, carrying big dresses and managing hair and makeup in wind or heat can become difficult and uncomfortable, so I always prioritise the perfect balance between beauty and comfort. And yes, cable car or helicopter options are absolutely possible too.

  4. Will you book vendors or activities for us?

I can recommend trusted local vendors and unique experiences, but I do not directly book on your behalf. I guide, connect and help curate while you stay fully in control.

  5. How long does it take to receive the photos?

Preview gallery within 10 days. Full gallery within 4–6 weeks (often sooner, depending on the season).

  6. When is an assistant needed, and do you offer one?

Absolutely. A professional assistant can accompany us to ensure every detail flows seamlessly: rowing a boat across an alpine lake, carrying your wedding dress, preparing a styled picnic or scenic setup, or discreetly capturing authentic behind-the-scenes moments on iPhone. This service is available for elopements and surprise proposals: just mention it when you enquire.

  1. Will there be crowds?

Sunrise solves 90% of the problem. It's the best way to enjoy privacy and soft light. Mid-season weekdays are also ideal. The Dolomites are not a place to elope at 3 pm in August. Worst case, I can edit people out of the background, and some locations even offer private early-morning access for photos.

  2. What should we wear or bring?

Some spots allow you to start the day already in your wedding dress, while others involve carrying your outfit and changing once we arrive. For short walks or gentle uphill trails, hiking boots are essential for safety and comfort. Don't forget your travel documents such as passport or ID card, and an international driver's license if you plan to rent a car.

  3. Can we legally get married in Italy?

Sometimes, but it's often complex. Most couples handle the legal paperwork at home, then have a heartfelt vow ceremony in the Dolomites.

  4. What about traditions like walking down the aisle or a first dance?

Eloping doesn't mean skipping tradition! You can include anything meaningful: first look, vow or letter reading, ring bearer, champagne pop, first dance, a private dinner or even a helicopter ride to the mountaintop.

  5. Do you deliver raw unedited images?

I don't deliver raw files. Every photograph is intentionally refined to reflect the cinematic and emotionally honest aesthetic I'm known for. Raw files are just the starting point. The true magic is in the careful curation and subtle editing that tells your story in a timeless way.

  6. Are additional location fees included?

Additional costs such as cable cars, parking or entrance tickets are not included in the packages. These are considered extras and depend on the locations we select for your elopement or proposal.
