The Alps

Unscripted intimacy, elevated by alpine light

Dolomites Elopement, Proposal & Couple Photographer

I was raised between the quiet majesty of the Italian Dolomites and the vibrancy of Bangkok, and these mountains still feel like home. Here I photograph intimate elopements, civil weddings, surprise proposals and couple sessions, in the mountains I know by heart and wherever else your story leads, worldwide and especially across Europe.

From sunrise vows at an alpine lake to a quiet exchange of promises on a mountain pass, I help you choose the place, the season and the light, in South Tyrol, Trentino and the Belluno Dolomites. I know which spots are quiet at dawn, which are easy to reach in a wedding dress and where to go when the clouds roll in.

From pre-wedding gatherings and private mountain vows to honeymoons, I document intimate connections with quiet elegance, using timeless digital frames, subtle 35mm film grain and nostalgic Super 8 motion, capturing honest romance wherever your story takes you.

FAQ

Eloping in the Dolomites: your questions

  1. Can we get legally married in the Dolomites?

Yes, a civil wedding at an Italian town hall is possible for foreign couples, but it takes paperwork, often including a certificate of no impediment (nulla osta) and translations. Many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in the mountains, which can take place almost anywhere. My guide to eloping in the Dolomites explains both ways.

  2. What happens if the weather is bad?

We always plan a backup: a second location that works in cloud or rain, and if possible a flexible date. Moody weather often creates the most beautiful photos, and I will help you decide on the day.

  3. How fit do we need to be?

Not at all. Many breathtaking places are a few minutes from a road or a lift, and I keep walks to an easy hour at most. Long gowns, hair and make-up in the wind are easier on short paths, so we find the balance between beauty and comfort.

  1. When is the best time to elope in the Dolomites?

My favourite windows are June to mid-July, with wildflowers and thawed alpine lakes, and late September to mid-October, with golden larches and crisp light. August is the busiest month, and from November to April many lifts and huts close, unless you want a snow adventure. Sunrise gives the softest light and the fewest people. Read the season guide.

  2. Do we need a permit to photograph or hold a ceremony?

For a small elopement and photos in public nature you usually do not, but some famous spots are on private land, have access fees or limited road access, and drones are restricted in many areas, especially in nature parks. I help you check the rules for your chosen place.

  3. Do you also photograph proposals and couple sessions?

Yes. Surprise proposals, honeymoon and pre-wedding sessions are among my favourite shoots in the mountains. For a proposal I help plan the spot and a discreet way to hide the camera until the big moment.
