Golden hour at Passo Gardena
On summer evenings the sun sets behind Val Gardena and lights the rock towers above Passo Gardena (Grödner Joch) in warm orange. Trails lead from the pass through high meadows towards the Cir peaks and the Sella group, gentle enough for a lace gown and a long veil. Because the pass lies on a busy road, the hour before sunset is when it empties and turns calm. For a couple session in the Dolomites that looks like a high-alpine adventure without a long hike, it is hard to beat. When the light is best.
