A quiet, moody dawn at Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee). Framed by sudden rain, low-hanging mist over emerald waters, and the raw quiet of the Dolomites, S & J exchanged vows in an ethereal, unscripted atmosphere.
Captured on candid digital frames, subtle 35mm film grain, and nostalgic Super 8 motion.
Eloping at Lago di Braies
Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee) is one of the most photographed lakes in the Alps, and still one of the most magical places to elope in the Dolomites, if you come at dawn. Before sunrise the lake is quiet, mist often hangs over the water and the wooden boats wait at the boathouse. By mid-morning in summer it fills with visitors, and road access during the day is limited and needs a reservation, so an early start makes everything easier. Rain is no reason to cancel: grey light turns the emerald water even deeper. How to plan your elopement.
